Pitch-up and Root down.

Our roots in ecology, we offer a regenerative space with eco, off-grid living offering guests the chance to escape and reconnect with each other and with the natural world.

Bring your own.

Stay with us here on our eco-stead and enjoy sleeping with your head close to the soil. We have dedicated camping pitches and invite you to pitch-up your tent, relax, unwind and adventure in to nature.

Our site is car free - pull in to our drop-off zone, grab a barrow and your eco-escape begins. The pitches are 10-30m from the parking area which is on grass.

We have ecology at our hearts and everything we do has our impact on the planet at its core. We offer well loved composting toilets, an outdoor-ish shower and washing up facility - yes they both shower and wash-up have a roof and hot water on tap.

Our traditional yurt offers not only a space to connect with fellow campers, shelter, chill, read and eat but also a space in which to practice yoga - Gavin is an experienced yoga teacher and would love to guide you in private or group classes.

Take time to explore nearby historic Ashbourne the gateway to the Peaks - it’s a short drive or cycle from us with its selection of shops, coffee shops and bars. Take a drive or hike from the door to Dovedale and the stepping stones, Ilam Hall or wander the endless local trails. Haddon Hall, Chatsworth Hall and Alton Towers are a c. 30 minutes drive or wander down the road to our incredible village pub The Okeover Arms, renowned for its hospitality and menu, a fusion of British and Indian flavours.

We are pet friendly and have a dog walking paddock on site as well as their being miles upon miles of trails accessible direct from site; in fact there’s a footpath directly opposite our entrance. Dogs do incur a minimal fee.

We are open to Greener Camping Club members only - at least one adult from each party must be a member alternately a £12 annual membership/joining fee can be paid on placing your booking. Membership is per calendar year. Please do make yourselves aware of Greener Camping Club site rules such as quiet times with no traffic between 10:30pm and 7:30am, no stereo/spreaker systems (e.g. Bluetooth or car stereo) - that feel free to bring along your acoustic guitar for a fire-side chill - fire pits are provided and fire wood can be purchased on site.

Pitch-up and Root down.

With our roots in ecology you can expect an almost off-grid experience. We know you love your space to be wild, peaceful and respectful of nature. We offer 4 spacious pitches within our paddock-meadow with its wild flowers and wildlife (we mow it mid-summer). Our pitches are named Lapwing, Kite & Curlew and wren after just a few of the beautiful birds that we share our landscape with.

We are a space to escape and reconnect so expect -

Open natural landscapes bordering the Peak District just minutes from Ashbourne by car and our amazing village pub, the Okeover Arms by foot (the food is incredible, a fusion of India and English foods and now Indian Street Foods).

A quiet space (except during sheep shearing season when the local sheep and their shearing buddies arrive with no noise or vehicle movement between 10pm and 7:30am and no amplified music including car stereos or Bluetooth speakers at any time.

Our site is car-free. Following your drop off a few yards away you’ll find our parking area. Don’t worry it’s still not far from your pitch.

Solar powered batteries (communal) to charge your phone and tablet - no hook-up.

Clean and ecological composting toilets - don't worry they are awesome.

Off-grid steaming hot shower - we are working on finding ways to heat your water through more natural ways but in the meantime all hot water facilities are gas-powered.

We are only able to accept a maximum of 4 campers per pitch - 2 campers included in your pitch fee, additional campers incur an additional fee.

We know the value of a campfire, a place to sit, stare in to the flames (there’s something primal about that don’t you think) and maybe toast a marshmallow or two. Campfires are encouraged but only in designated fire pits supplied free of charge and used in designated spots.

Recycling our future - recycling bins.

We are a strictly no smoking, no vaping site.

Our neighbouring farm is a working sheep farm so expect some day to day going’s on, particularly during shearing season. Well behaved small and medium sized dogs (2 max) are welcomed but must be kept secure or on leads at all times. Dangerous breeds and large dogs (larger than say a Collie) are not permitted. Dogs incur a small additional fee.

Don't expect unlimited electricity or load noises, we are proud to offer solar charging for your phones and tablets along with solar powered lighting
